This project unfolds in the picturesque and historic city of Tabriz, Iran, where the rich cultural heritage beautifully intersects with modern architectural innovation. Our design ambition was to craft a residence tailored specifically for a gifted musician whose creative energy flourishes under the cover of night.
To achieve this, we have meticulously organized the space into two distinct zones. The above-ground level is designed for everyday living—an open, airy environment with large windows that let natural light flood in, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This level incorporates a spacious living area, a well-appointed kitchen, and inviting common spaces where relaxation and social interaction can flourish during the day.
In contrast, the below-ground section is a serene, intimate sanctuary, thoughtfully engineered to spark inspiration in the evening. We envisioned this subterranean retreat as a haven for artistic exploration, characterized by its unique architecture that draws on the rhythmic, flowing shapes reminiscent of musical notes. Rich textures and carefully selected furnishings create an inviting ambiance that beckons creativity.
This underground oasis is further enhanced by strategically placed skylights that filter in soft, ambient light, simulating a starlit sky and fostering a stimulating environment for creative endeavours well into the night. The design not only celebrates the vivacious spirit of Tabriz’s nightlife but also reflects the musicians’ passion, providing the perfect backdrop for the development of their artistic dreams. We are eager to witness how this exceptional space nurtures their creativity and becomes a canvas for their musical journey!
